On Saturday 14 July seven of us undertook a 26 mile hike around Ullswater Lake to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. The day was very hard, but we were overwhelmed by the support that was given by all our friends and family.
Macmillan is a charity that is incredibly close to my heart. The organisation supported my family when my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer. They were there until the very end, ensuring that she was looked after and that my grandfather had all the support and help he needed.
The Mighty Hike was a brilliant way to raise funds for this important charity. Macmillan aimed to raise £500,000 across the events. and we were delighted that we helped raise just under £5,000 on the day.
To put that in perspective a Macmillan Nurse costs just over £1,200 a week, so THANK YOU to all those that helped!
